The Syracuse Standard - March 25, 1885 A musical and literary entertainment was given in the Church of Christ last evening for the benefit of the Ladies' Aid society of Syracuse. A large number were present. The programme consisted of literary selections by Wesley Lyman, the boy orator, and musical selections by the Mozart club, assisted by Charles Becker, violin ; C.W. Ball, flute; Mrs. C.E. Petty, contralto; Miss Edna Petty, soprano, and Mrs.J.E. Mosher, pianist. The selections, in costume, of Wesley Lyman and the soprano solo, "Cuckoo Song," by Miss Edna Petty, received great applause. |

The Syracuse Standard - June 1, 1885 A Festival To-Morrow Night. The ladies fo the First Methodist church are to hold a strawberry and ice cream social in the church parlors to-morrow (Tuesday) evening. They are making elaborate preparations to ensure a pleasant evening. A literary and musical programme will be given, consisting of recitations by C.F. Ayling and Wesley Lyman, the boy elocutionist, zither playing by Miss Lulu Wilkins, who has been in Washington the past winter perfecting herself in the art of that instrument; vocal music by Mr. E.M. Dudley, Mrs. Petty, Miss Edna Petty, who has charmed a number of audiences lately with her child voice, and the choir of the church. The refreshments will be served in the parlors of the church and will include all the fruits of the season in ample abundance. An admission fee of ten cents will be charged at the door. |

The Syracuse Standard - October 26, 1885 CATO - At the entertainment given under the auspices of the Disciples church, Thursday evening, by Master Wesley Lyman and Miss Edna Petty of Syracuse, Mrs. Lyman, Mrs. Cora Petty and Miss ???? of Syracuse, assisted with vocal and instrumental music, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Feek, J. Welch, Mr. Morrisey, Miss Sloan and Miss Fiona Feek of Syracuse were also present, and were guests of Mrs. Frank Rich. |
