How this happened...
I have always had an interest in collecting stamps and old paper jibberish and newspaper clippings - I think they call this philatelic and ephemera. Nice words, but, whatever we want to call it, it can get either tedious (as in "just another item to add to the shoebox") or it can get addictive (as in "I didn't realize how much time I actually spent on this"). Anyhow, on a trip in 1998 I spotted a stamp collectors shop. So I went in, made some conversation with the owner and took a tour thru the items. Some old postcards were in a small box on top of the counter and I browsed thru them. My main focus was on the stamps affixed to the postcards. So I bought a few things and I was on my way. Years later, I started to pay attention to these postcards and the actors and actresses on them. The first one was of Edna May. This led to a search on the internet about her. My interest was peaked reading about how she started from humble beginnings in Syracuse, New York and then made it to London as a world theatre star for her day. So here is a web site I slapped together to bring to our generation and future generations a star of the past who can still thrive in our cyberspace. Edna's stardom was over one hundred years ago...but, it never really ended.
